Learning Cloud
An educational platform for tablets and smart-phones which offers interactive content for various ages and local school programs.
Our primary goal is to deliver quality interactive educational resources matching the school programs for each canton of Switzerland.
Our idea
Our goal is to create an educational platform for tablets which would offer interactive content crafted for various ages and classified according to local requirements. Each user would be able to explore the resources based on their educational level and local school program. One place where students could access lessons, interactive demonstrations and quizzes, plan their work, verify progress and share results with parents or teachers.
Switzerland will be the first market on which we release the application. The content will be available in French and German for covering school programs for each canton. Later we plan to roll out the content for other countries like: USA, France, Germany, UK, Australia. Our long term vision is to become a leader on this sector of the market.
Background
The incredible spread of POST PC devices (IPAD, other tablets, smart-phones) in households brings many changes in the way people work, play and learn.
After entertainment, education is the second most common activity for which tablets are used.
Many educational institutions in the world have already embraced tablets into their school curriculum; expectations of users evolved taking interactivity and entertainment for granted.
Numerous educational applications already exist for preschools, but there are not many educative applications suited for educative programs on higher levels.
How is it possible?
We believe we have a unique vision and technical know-how to make this project successful. The educational materials have to be interactive and fun without sacrificing the goal of learning and discovery. Multi-touch screens, physical sensors in tablets, powerful graphical capabilities of devices make all of this possible. We want to enable students to touch, construct, experiment, interact on the screen and actively participate in the learning process.
